Zattoo acquires Green Streams to build Europe’s most operator-centric TV platform – modular and globally scalable
Zurich/Berlin, 6 May 2025 – TV-streaming provider Zattoo today announces the acquisition of Green Streams GmbH, further strengthening its position as a leading TV-platform provider. With this strategic move, Zattoo expands its B2B product portfolio and lays the groundwork for entry into new international markets. By integrating one of the industry’s most advanced middleware platforms, the company significantly accelerates its technological development and unlocks new growth opportunities.
Founded in 2021, Green Streams has rapidly established its modular, cloud-native Media Integration Platform (MIP) among telecommunications and pay-TV operators in select markets. The platform offers a flexible, efficient solution for TV- and streaming services, optimised to combine existing in-network components with “best-of-breed” third-party modules. This means that for every core technology layer, the most powerful specialised option can be selected and seamlessly integrated into the overall system.
With this acquisition, Zattoo creates the foundation to build an operator-centric TV platform for Europe—modular, cloud-native and designed for global deployment. Full integration of Green Streams technology will allow Zattoo to mix in-house and third-party components to deliver tailor-made TV and streaming offerings, setting new standards of modularity and efficiency compared with existing platforms. The deal also opens access to additional market segments and customer groups.
Another key benefit is the accelerated development of innovative features, boosting Zattoo’s competitiveness and enabling the company to bring cutting-edge solutions to customers even faster.
The current Green Streams platform will be further developed under the Zattoo brand, strengthening the combined technology portfolio. Green Streams founders Gernot Jaeger and Ivo Stock—both former Zattoo executives—will continue to lead the ongoing integration from within the Zattoo team.
